The buzzer went off. The red alert appeared on the viewer. The helmet, which appeared to be intact, actually had a micro-crack at the visor joint. The message she received affirmed that if she went out into extravehicular activity, in just over thirty seconds she would split in two.
She unhooked it and, in a fit of rage, threw it on the wall, only managing to crash into the opposite wall. She then punched the suit compartment door. At that time, the physical pain was invigorating, less intense than the emotional pain. She walked over to the outer hatch and looked through the porthole. Khàleb was only fifteen meters from her and she couldn't reach him, she couldn't save him! She leaned her forehead against the glass, grabbed the handle with her left hand and punched several times with her right, as if she wanted to shatter the glass wall. She cried.

The story

In the distant future, humanity spread over millions of planets under the aegis of Galaxias. Interplanetary travel is the prerogative of a small elite of galactic corporations that monopolize the mineral resources necessary for interstellar navigation. Humanity, relegated to colonized planets, lives in a period of obscurantism. The danger of despotic domination and the restrictions of freedom is ever more palpable.

To thwart the impending coup, the Delphís crew plans a revolution that will free humanity from the yoke of oppressors. A peaceful revolution that will allow space travel on a large scale, giving humanity the opportunity to express its full potential in the arts, sciences and exploration of the galaxias.

In the middle of the mission, the Delphís crew finds themselves near an unknown planet. The only hope of surviving is to land there. They will get to know an ancient culture; the key to the past, present and future.

THE AUTHOR

The author is the founder of a software house. He is an IT manager, software developer and system administrator. In recent years he has studied new programming languages, such as Flutter, Node.js React and Solidity (for the development of Smart Contracts in the Ethereum blockchain). He has been interested in new Web3 technologies such as DAPPs and NFTs. Always a science and science fiction enthusiast, he also appreciates the great classic authors. His passion for literature has led him to write some novels and short stories exploring various narrative genres. With Eliosfera Editrice, he published the short story collection LETTERE. Storie in un incipit and has in editing with us the science fiction novel Toward Hemelslinn. Using his experience in the computer and art worlds, he has developed an NFT collection based on his novel Toward Hemelslinn. The collection, Toward Hemelslinn NFT, is unique. It combines literary art and pictorial art declined to gererative graphics. The novel itself and future comics will be part of the Toward Hemelslinn NFT work.

THE GORILLA'S DILEMMA

A majestic gorilla was staring at him with a frown. The gorilla’s long, mighty arms were pointed straight with his fists on the ground. His stern brown eyes stood out against the black background of his muzzle. It was as if he were talking to him. 'Make up your mind, show yourself, do what’s right. You can't betray your friends. Get help, for Khalìse's sake'. She could hear these phrases echoing in her mind as if it was the proud animal infusing them. For a few minutes their eyes remained fixed, peering. Finally the gorilla sat down and his gaze cleared. He felt the same sensation, as if he had passed the same feeling on to her.
